Tulsa Police say new Flock cameras helped in the arrest of alleged car thief

Video: Tulsa Police say new flock cameras helped in car chase arrest

TULSA, Okla. — Investigators say Jaymz Vann led officers on a chase that lasted nearly an hour.

Tulsa police Lt. Billy Hursh said Vann was, “crisscrossing all across the city on pretty much every highway we have until ultimately, officers were able to get in front of it and deploy stop sticks with assistance from Oklahoma Highway Patrol.”

The truck finally came to a stop in a north Tulsa neighborhood near East Admiral and Sheridan.

Officers arrested Vann for having the stolen truck, driving without a license, and multiple charges related to evading police.

Vann’s female passenger was released at the scene.

The truck’s owner, Ryan Graves, reported his truck stolen Monday morning.

Graves said, “I came in from Dallas at 8 p.m. that night, woke up to go to work the next day, it was gone.”

He’s thankful for TPD and the Flock cameras that helped them find his truck.

Graves said, “I think the new technology is pretty amazing, personally. I mean, for them to just drive by and realize that it’s stolen, that’s awesome.”

This was the second stolen truck arrest within three days when Flock cameras started sending an alert to the police.

On Monday, Dec. 12th police arrested Piper Barrett for allegedly driving a stolen car, eluding police, having a gun and not having a license.
