TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Regional Tourism hosted their annual meeting on Tuesday to discuss how much progress the city has made with tourism this year.
The meeting was held at Southern Hills Country Club in south Tulsa, the location of this year’s PGA Championship.
More than $350 million was pumped into the economy from hotel bookings along over the last year, the tourism board said.
“I firmly believe that for us to grow, for us to recruit more people, to live in this city, to live in this region, then the tourism industry needs to be right in the middle of that strategic effort,” said Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell.
Tulsa also welcomed more than 300,000 people for various events.
