U.S. Marshal serving Tulsa area to retire

The longest-serving U.S. Marshal in Oklahoma history has announced his retirement. Clayton Johnson will end his law enforcement career at the end of January 2026. He’s served as U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Oklahoma since 2011 when he was appointed by President Barack Obama. We was retained by President Donald Trump in 2017 and has now served under four presidential administrations. Johnson started his career in law enforcement as a reserve police officer with the Ponca City Police Department. He rose through the ranks there and eventually became the chief of police. He remained with Ponca City PD until his appointment as a U.S. Marshal. Johnson’s successor has not yet been announced.
