AG’s Office warns people to be wary of holiday charity scams

The A.G.’s Office says scammers know that people are more inclined to be generous this time of year. So the office is offering some tips. They say, take your time. They say legitimate charities won’t pressure or rush you.Also, they say, do some research. Ask for the group’s full name, address, and contact information and check online to make sure they’re a registered non-profit group. The IRS and the Better Business Bureau websites are good places to start.
