COWETA, Okla. — The Coweta City Council has appointed Daniel Beatie as the new councilperson for Ward 4.
The City of Coweta said applications were opened on Oct. 31 following Lauren Givans resignation announcement, which was effective as of the Nov. 3 council meeting.
Applications opened to fill the rest of the Ward 4 unexpired term.
Beatie was appointed to the Ward 4 seat by the other city councilors during the Dec. 1 council meeting.
The City said Beatie has a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a major in Nature Resource Ecology and Management. He has been living in Coweta with his family for nearly 10 years.
In his application, Beatie said he wants to contribute to making the City more beautiful and he’s excited about the potential he sees.
“We need someone in this seat that cares about our town as a whole,” said Beatie.
The City said it is pleased to have Beatie as a member of city council and looks forward to working with him.
