Tulsa police arrest man after two injured in early morning Christmas shooting in north Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department arrested a man after a verbal altercation led to two people being shot on Christmas morning.

According to police, officers responded to a shooting call at a home near East Pine Street and North Yale Avenue at 2 a.m. 

Once on scene, officers learned that the homeowner was hosting a Christmas party and Jose Alcaraz, who was not invited to the party, showed up.

After a verbal altercation between Alcaraz and some of the guests, a fight broke out. Alcaraz then pulled out a gun and began firing, hitting two people, a 37-year-old and 31-year old male. Both were taken to hospitals where they are expected to survive.

Officers identified Alcaraz and surrounded his home which was a few miles away from the shooting location. Officers made phone contact with Alcaraz who agreed to surrender. He was later taken into custody without incident.

Alcaraz was booked for two counts of shooting with intent to kill.
