Haskell Co. under 14-day burn ban amid extreme fire danger

By Fox23.com News Staff

HASKELL COUNTY, Okla. — Haskell County is currently under a burn ban for two weeks, as weather conditions have created an “extreme fire danger.”

The Haskell County Board of Commissioners issued the burn ban on Monday.

Under the burn ban, people in Haskell County are not allowed to set fire to “any forest, grass, range, crop, or other wildlands.” Campfires and bonfires are also not allowed.

Residents are asked to avoid burning trash and things that can cause a grass fire, as well.

The burn ban will stay in effect for 14 days. If the conditions are still dangerous, the ban may be extended. It can also be removed anytime within the two weeks if conditions improve.

For more information, or if you have any questions, Haskell County Emergency Management said residents can call 918-448-8219 or can send a message to their Facebook page.
