SALLISAW, Okla. — The Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office says it is currently investigating a reported shooting near Sallisaw Monday morning.
Deputies say the shooting occurred at approximately 5 a.m. near the Sequoyah Little Farms area. They say a woman was transported to a local hospital and is being treated for minor injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) were on scene conducting interviews and gathering evidence. They also speaking with individuals at the residence to get a clear account of the events.
The investigators believe the incident was an isolated and targeted one and that there is no threat to the public.
The investigation into the shooting is currently ongoing.
