TULSA, Okla. — The Jewish Federation of Tulsa released a statement addressing the proposed Islamic Center in Broken Arrow.

The nonprofit addressed tonight’s meeting stating:

Jewish Tulsa has always prided ourselves on the guiding principle that religious freedom for all is a fundamental right in the United States. We’ve heard from our community members with a range of perspectives and strong feelings.

As the city of Broken Arrow council meets tomorrow to discuss the zoning for a religious institution, we hope the dialogue remains thoughtful, respectful, and grounded in the cornerstone fundamental religious freedoms that allow all communities to gather, serve, and contribute positively to civic life.

We anticipate a decision that reaffirms our shared values of freedom, inclusion, and constitutional rights for all.

Broken Arrow City Council is set to hold a special meeting tonight at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of the Administrative Services Building at Northeastern State University-Broken Arrow to discuss the proposed Islamic center in South Broken Arrow.
