Vandals hit the Oklahoma State Capitol.

Oklahoma State Capitol vandalized

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirms the Oklahoma State Capitol was vandalized overnight with anti-ICE sentiments and derogatory statements about Gov. Kevin Stitt.

OHP says graffiti was spray-painted on several areas on the outside of the state Capitol building as well as along the 23rd Street underpass in north Oklahoma City.

OHP Lt. Mark Southall says they take this kind of threat seriously, “This morning we discovered anti-ICE and threats generally towards politicians on the steps of the south side of the Capitol. It is definitely a concern of ours. Vandalizing the Capitol, it’s the people’s house, it really is a direct assault on all of the people of Oklahoma.”

Crews were out first thing this morning, power washing the damage.

OHP says evidence, such as spray-paint cans and fingerprints, has been collected from the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
