COWETA, Okla. — A single Coweta mother who set up a GoFundMe to fund her own funeral and provide support for her children after learning she only has weeks to live is now thanking the community for all their support.
Last week, we told you the story of 28-year-old Kaylin Gawf who has been battling metastatic breast cancer for three years.
Gawf created the GoFundMe after learning her cancer had spread to her brain and bones and was placed in hospice.
Currently, over $300,000 has been raised for Gawf and her family.
On Thursday, Gawf shared her thanks to the entire community who has helped her and her family, posting on GoFundMe:
“I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported us. Your donations, shares, prayers and messages have touched our hearts more than words can convey. The generosity you’ve shown has truly exceeded my wildest dreams, and it continues to bring us comfort and relief. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your love and compassion.
Right now, I’m in a hospice care facility, spending precious time with my children, Jace and Memphis. The support from all of you has lifted a huge burden off our shoulders and made things more manageable for my family.
Thank you, truly, to everyone who’s contributed. Your kindness is making a world of difference for my kids and for us during this incredibly challenging time. I am forever grateful.
Thank you, Kaylin.”
