Cherokee Nation Marshal Service says 2 missing teen brothers have been found safe

UPDATE (01/19/2026) — Two teenage brothers reported missing earlier this month have been found and are safe, according to the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service.


DELAWARE COUNTY, Okla. — The Cherokee Nation Marshal Service is searching for two teenage brothers who were last seen on Jan. 2.

Authorities are currently searching for a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old. The brothers were last see in Jay, Oklahoma on Jan 2.

Authorities said it’s possible they may be in the Loma Linda area of Joplin, Missouri.

The 14-year-old is described as a Cherokee male who is 6’0″ and weighs around 160 pounds. He has brown curly hair and brown eyes.

The 16-year-old is described as a Cherokee male who is 5’2″ and weighs about 105 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
