SAND SPRINGS, Okla. — The City of Sand Springs declared a Snow and Ice Emergency, which is issued when the City requires use of snow removal equipment.
The emergency is declared by City ordinance when accumulation of ice or snow is expected on the streets and roads.
The City said to facilitate the removal of snow, and to assure the regular flow of traffic during and after snow and ice events, specific streets are designated as snow routes.
Only the streets designated on the snow plow map are required to be treated and plowed. Residential streets are not part of the official snow plow map.

The City shared things to know about the City ordinance on snow and ice events:
- On all snow routes, parking is prohibited during the snow and ice emergency.
- On all other streets within City limits that allow parking, when a snow or ice emergency has been declared, parking is prohibited on the side of the street with odd numbered house addresses.
