OILTON, Okla. — The City of Oilton announced Oilton Police Chief Chris Kirkpatrick submitted his resignation as chief on Thursday.
The City said Cameron Williams has been appointed as Interim Police Chief.
The Oilton City Council voted to appoint Kirkpatrick as Chief of Police in October 2025 following the council’s decision to fire the previous police chief, John Hefley, from his position.
Kirkpatrick’s resignation comes only a little over two weeks after former Oilton Mayor Patrick Kennedy resigned from his role as mayor.
Kennedy chose to resign after the board voted to remove him as Oilton Public Works Authority Chairman.
Following Kennedy’s resignation, Julia Bagwell was appointed as acting mayor until a special election can be held.
