TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Police arrested a man saying he robbed a teen after trying to buy a gun.
According to TPD, they responded to an armed robbery near 31st Street and South 108th East Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The 16-year-old victim said he set up a meet on Snapchat to buy a gun from 18-year-old Derick Pitts. When the two met, Pitts told the victim he wanted to see the money for the gun.
When the victim gave Pitts $380, he pocketed it, pointed a gun at the victim, and then left the scene. The victim ran to a business to call 911.
Officers responded to Pitt’s house and took him into custody as he walked outside. The victim’s stolen cash was recovered.
Pitts was arrested and booked into Tulsa County Jail for robbery with a dangerous weapon.
