TULSA, Okla. — ImpactTulsa has been chosen to receive a grant from the NBA Foundation, becoming the only Tulsa-based organization selected for funding this round.
ImpactTulsa was chosen as a recipient of the 16th Round of NBA Foundation Grants. The money from this grant will support My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Tulsa and will help to strengthen efforts to give more boys and young men of color access to education and workforce readiness.
The NBA Foundation gives organizations across the country the opportunity to expand access to economic opportunity for young [people through career readiness and education.
“The NBA Foundation partnership amplifies what we already see in the young people we serve—their brilliance, their vision for change, and their power to redefine what’s possible in North Tulsa,” said Ashley Philippsen, Executive Director of ImpactTulsa. “By investing in MBK Tulsa at ImpactTulsa, the foundation helps ensure that every young person, whether they’re stepping onto the court, leading in their classroom, or building community on their campus, has access to the mentorship, career pathways, and opportunities they need to drive economic mobility for themselves and their families.”
The funds from the grant will help improve MBK Tulsa. The organization’s work focuses on the young boys and men of color in Tulsa and ensures they are supported as they grow and explore career opportunities.
MBK Tulsa works to better outcomes from major milestones through school attendance, graduation, postsecondary access, and career prep.
