TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts and Culture (FMAC) said they’re working to make Tulsa a premier film destination through their new Tulsa Film Incentive Program.

The program will offer financial assistance for any film projects working in the Tulsa Production Zone, which is defined as anywhere within a 30-mile radius from Tulsa City Hall.

Productions with between $100,000 and $5 million local spend will receive a five percent rebate. The Tulsa FMAC stated rebates will be capped at $50,000, with projects spending over $5 million being eligible for $75,000.

“The addition of this incentive to the existing Oklahoma state rebate elevates Tulsa to an even higher competitive standing as a film and television destination,” said Meg Gould, the Executive Director of Tulsa FMAC. “This will help create more industry jobs in the region, growing the overall local economy and increase Tulsa’s visibility on a global scale.”

The new rebate is based on various qualifiers, including:

  • Use of local music
  • Hiring local crew who reside within 45 miles of Tulsa City Hall
  • Use of local vendors
  • Production office space in the Tulsa Production Zone

The new Film Incentive Program can be applied alongside other existing local and state rebates.

The first company to receive funds from the Tulsa Film Incentive was Rebellium Films for their movie titled Horrified.

“As a local Tulsa producer, the opportunity to film in our own city is truly a dream come true,” said Talia Bella, a producer with Rebellium Films. “Tulsa’s diverse landscape—from its sprawling suburbs to its iconic Art Deco architecture—provides the perfect backdrop for virtually any genre of film. This unique beauty is precisely why I am so proud to call Tulsa home. Rebellium Films was honored to be the first recipient of the newly launched Tulsa Incentive Program, and we are eager to continue collaborating with Tulsa FMAC on future productions. Together, we aim to strengthen and enhance the vibrant, distinctive fabric of Tulsa’s growing film community.”

For the first year of its operation, the Tulsa Film Incentive fund for the program will be capped at $400,000.
