STILLWATER, Okla. — A judge ordered a new evidentiary hearing in a sexual assault case involving a Stillwater teenager following claims that victims’ rights were violated under Marsy’s Law.
According to court records, the hearing will address disputes from the start of the case, to the defendant’s plea deal, which changed his status from “adult” to “youthful offender.”
The teen then changed his plea to “no contest,” and was sentenced to a rehabilitation plan, instead of prison time.
On Tuesday, a Payne County judge ruled a need to review facts of the case, with a evidentiary hearing set for April 13 at 9 a.m.
