The Haven Detox Center opens in Tulsa, focusing on substance abuse, mental health

By Kirk McCracken

Focusing on substance abuse and mental health, The Haven Detox Center is opening a treatment center in Tulsa that will be open next week.

The Haven’s Executive Director Lamont Malcom tells KRMG they saw a need for a treatment center in Tulsa, and they specialize in finding the deeper cause of addiction and mental health struggles. They also use integrated dual diagnosis treatment for both addiction and mental health challenges at the same time.

“There aren’t enough services in this state and we want to make sure we can at least add ourselves to list of possibilities for them,” Malcom said.

The program starts with a medical detox, 4-8 week treatment, and the follow-up care. Malcom says there is a growing need for this in Tulsa.

“Fentanyl is definitely on the rise. Opiate use continues to be on the rise. We’re seeing less heroin and more fentanyl,” Malcom said.

The center accepts insurance and private pay.

The new center is located at 2130 S. 85th E. Ave., and opens on Feb. 9.
