TULSA, Okla. – The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a Fire Weather Watch for Northeast Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas on Thursday of this week.
Above average temps, as well as strong winds and low relative humidity will create critical fire weather conditions. Wind gusts between 30-35 mph are expected, and minimum relative humidity values will be between 15-20%. Add to that temperatures reaching into the lower 70’s and any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
The KRMG StormCenter is standing by to monitor the situation all day on Thursday.
