TPS Superintendent to take part in public forum on school bond package

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Ebony Johnson will take part in a public forum next week answering questions about a $609 million bond package that will be up for vote on a ballot April 7.

The five-year bond package will include:

  • $200.9 million for instructional materials, fine arts and athletics
  • $276 million for building improvements and safety upgrades
  • $104.7 million for technology needs
  • $27.2 million for transportation

The say if the bond is approved, it will not increase taxes.

The event is free and will be held on Tuesday, March 10 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Tulsa Flyer newsroom, located at 101 East Archer Street in downtown Tulsa. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Also on the ballot will be the election of TPS District 4 and 7 school board members. The candidates have also been invited to meet the public before the forum.
