Rep. Kevin Hern announces a run for the U.S. Senate

By April Hill

Representative Kevin Hern announced Wednesday afternoon that he is launching a campaign for the United States Senate.

Hern says he grew up on an Air Force base, worked his way through school, built businesses, and served Oklahoma in Congress.

Now Hern is ready to fight for Oklahoma in the Senate.

“President Trump’s America First Agenda and our nation are under attack by the Radical Left and RINO Republicans”, said Hern. “Now more than ever, Oklahomans need to know they have a strong conservative leader in Washington who will stand up for their values and support our great President. I will continue fighting for secure borders, lowering the cost of living for families, supporting our law enforcement and military, and putting Oklahomans first. That’s why I’m running for United States Senate.”

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt is considering who will be a temporary replacement for Senator Markwayne Mullin after President Donald Trump nominated him to replace Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

The debate over the temporary appointment is separate from the race for the full Senate term.

This is not the first time Hern’s name has been suggested for a U.S. Senate seat.

In 2022, Hern’s name was thrown around for the seat being vacated by Jim Inhofe that would go on to be filled by Mullin.

Hern instead decided to run for another term in the House.
