Continental Coliseum named as future home for the Thunder

Oklahoma City Thunder

OKLAHOMA CITY —The Oklahoma City Thunder announced the name of their new downtown arena. The Thunder announced Tuesday the new arena will be named Continental Coliseum under a 15-year naming rights partnership with Continental Resources.

The team says the partnership reflects a shared commitment to Oklahoma City and the state, with plans for community investment and support for literacy initiatives. The arena, set to open in late summer 2028, will host a variety of events beyond basketball, including concerts and national sporting events.

“This partnership builds on a strong, long-standing relationship rooted in shared values and a shared vision for Oklahoma City,” said Will Syring, vice president of Corporate Partnerships for the Thunder. “What we’ve accomplished together to date made this a natural next step. This expanded collaboration goes beyond naming rights; it represents a meaningful commitment to community investment, including support for literacy initiatives that will benefit Oklahomans across our state.”
