Muskogee man pleads guilty to aggravated sexual abuse

MUSKOGEE, Okla. — Jaxson Clayton Vaughn, 19, of Muskogee has pled guilty to one count of aggravated sexual abuse in Indian Country.

We reported in December 2024 when Vaughn was involved in a standoff with police in Muskogee after he had escaped from custody in Woodward. Police originally wanted him for questioning about shootings in the community.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma says that Vaughn knowingly caused the victim to engage in a sexual act by use of force and by threatening and placing the victim in fear of death, serious bodily injury, and kidnapping on November 14, 2024.

The charge came from an investigation by the Tahlequah Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Vaughn also pled guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon on November 22nd in Muskogee County.

Vaughn will remain in custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending sentencing. His charge is punishable by up to life in prison and a $250,000 fine.
