TULSA, Okla. — Poetry has sprung up in downtown Tulsa! The 2026 Curbside Haikus have been planted throughout the area, spotlighting the community’s creativity.
Ten new haiku poems have been placed throughout downtown as part of Downtown Tulsa Partnership’s public art initiative.
Earlier this year, the organization called on the community to submit haikus, a short poem that has exactly 17 syllables typically arranged in a 5-7-5 pattern.
Over 180 entries were judged by personnel from Magic City Books, and from those poems 10 were chosen.
The 2026 winning poets are Allison Trombley, Beth King, Dalmo Mendonça, Darlene Rough, Holly Ivers, Kay Shaughnessy, Rachel Visser, September Boles, Suzanne Bruce, and Teresa Parker.
