Dispatch told officers that a child could be heard crying at the scene.

When officers arrived, they saw that the vehicle had gone over a bridge and fallen around 15 feet onto the eastbound lanes of I-244, where it was lying on its roof.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) helped officers block the interstate so that the Tulsa Fire Department (TFD) and EMSA could access the scene.

Police said the 17-year-old driver was traveling westbound on West 41st Street when he ran a stop sign at the intersection of 25th West Avenue and Southwest Boulevard.

The driver then failed to turn at a slight curve in the road and hit a curb.

The car went airborne over a drainage ditch, crashed through a fence, and fell onto the interstate below.

Police said the driver, an 18-year-old passenger, and a 1-year-old child were in the car when it crashed.

The child was not in a car seat and was injured during the crash. She was transported by ambulance to the hospital and is expected to recover.

Police said the case remains under investigation and charges against the driver are still possible.
