MAYES COUNTY, Okla. — A pilot was killed in a helicopter crash near Sportsmen Acres in Mayes County on Friday morning, according to authorities on scene.
Several agencies, including Grand River Dam Authority Police, Mayes County Sheriff’s Office, Chouteau Fire, Pryor Creek Police, Pryor Fire, and Oklahoma Highway Patrol, responded to the crash near 550 and 584 Roads at around 9:30 a.m.
OHP said the pilot, who was later identified as Emanuele Tsikoudakis, was the only person inside the helicopter. Pryor Creek Police Chief Jeremy Cantrell said the helicopter was privately owned.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
