OKLAHOMA CITY —John Waldron has announced his resignation as Chair of the Oklahoma Democratic Party. Waldron has held this position since June.
Waldron said he is choosing to resign for personal reasons, citing specifically the upcoming legislative session and family commitments.

“With the legislative session coming up and pressing family commitments, I am handing over the reins to my capable partners on the executive committee,” said Waldron in a statement shared to social media. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished in revitalizing our party statewide over the past six months…”
In his resignation statement, Waldron expressed his confidence in incoming chair, Erin Brewer.
“I’m confident that work will continue under Erin Brewer’s leadership,” said Waldronhe Oklahoma Democratic Party announced Monday that Erin Brewer will be the new chair for the organization.
Brewer is a nominee for State Senate District 47 in Oklahoma City, a small business owner, and an advocate for public education.
