TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Police say a 16-year-old driver who caused a crash on Highway 11 over the weekend tried to run from police, but his choice in hiding places stinks.

Police say around 1:20 a.m. on Saturday, the teen apparently had some of mechanical trouble with his pickup truck, causing him to lose control, sideswipe another vehicle, and then hit a utility pole.

They say they found the truck abandoned on the side of the highway near Apache Street.

Then, they say they eventually found him hiding in a porta-potty not far from the crash scene.

They say he had been in there for about an hour.

Police say they gave him several citations, including one for Hit and Run.

They say nobody was injured in the incident.
