TULSA, Okla. — A longtime St. Patrick’s Day tradition is returning to downtown as McNellie’s Pub prepares to host an all-day block party packed with live music, food, and drinks.
Travis Taylor, Vice President of Operations, says the celebration will kick off early, with doors opening at 10 a.m. Guests can expect a festive outdoor setup, including a tent and entertainment throughout the day as crowds gather to celebrate the holiday.
Taylor says the pub has spent years building its St. Patrick’s Day tradition and focuses on creating a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere.
“It’s such a traditional day. We open early, we have a morning toast, and then it’s just a great day to hang out,” Taylor said. “We don’t charge a cover; people can come out, enjoy good entertainment, good beer, and great Irish food.”
Organizers say a DJ will take the stage at 7:30 p.m., helping keep the party going into the evening. With pleasant spring temperatures expected, many attendees are likely to spend much of the celebration outdoors.
Because large crowds are anticipated, drivers are encouraged to avoid the area near First Street and Elgin Avenue during peak hours. Event-goers are advised to look for street parking or use parking options behind the pub when possible.
Taylor says the goal is to provide a comfortable gathering place where people can celebrate with friends and family.
“A pub is a place where people can sit around, talk and enjoy themselves,” he said. “We’ve always tried to make this a space where people can relax and just enjoy the day.”
Organizers expect a steady turnout throughout the holiday as one of downtown Tulsa’s most popular St. Patrick’s celebrations returns once again.
