STILLWATER, Okla. — The Stillwater Police Department says it has arrested a woman in connection to a shooting call Saturday night.
Police say they responded to reports of a shooting at 300 W. 29th Avenue before 8:30 p.m. The victim had contacted 911 saying she was shot.
Police identified Megan Kane, 33 of Stillwater, as a suspect who reportedly fled the scene with two children before officers arrived.
The victim was transported to Stillwater Medical Center and then Life Flighted to Oklahoma City. She is listed as being stable.
Police put out an alert for Kane and her vehicle. At around 11 p.m., a Kickapoo Tribal Police Officer conducted a traffic stop for speeding on Highway 102 and County Road 1020 in Lincoln, Oklahoma identifying Kane’s vehicle. She was taken into custody without incident and taken to the City of Stillwater Jail. She was charged with shooting with intent to kill and kidnapping.
The two children with Kane were located safely in the vehicle and taken to Oklahoma Highway Patrol Headquarters and were later released to Payne County DHS.
