Senator Markwayne Mullin’s confirmation hearing was held on Wednesday, March 18, and Charity Marcus from the “Tulsa Republican Club” and Jennifer Stevens from “Women for Tulsa” spoke with KRMG about Mullin.

Stevens said Mullin has real-world experience and talked about his success. “I know he definitely has real-world experience, and he’s been very successful, and helping other people be successful.”

Mullin was nominated to be the next Department of Homeland Security Secretary, replacing Kristi Noem, who was fired in early March.

Stevens also says Mullin will prove the doubters wrong.

“So, I think he can do an outstanding job in leading because he’s definitely a leader, and I think he’s gonna prove anyone who doubts him wrong,” she said.

Marcus says we need more honest people in government like Mullin. The DHS Secretary oversees border security, immigration enforcement, cyber-security, disaster response, and terrorism prevention.

“We need more people being honest, not sugar-coating things in politics and government,” Marcus said.
