Man who fled Tulsa courthouse apprehended in Wagoner County

Update:  The Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office says they assisted the Tulsa Police in catching Chance Oswalt after he fled the Tulsa courthouse.

They say after receiving information regarding his possible whereabouts in Wagoner County, deputies and Tulsa Police Officers located him in the area of South 285th East Avenue and East 15th Place South. Wagoner County deputies made a perimeter around the location and made commands for occupants to exit an RV on the property.

When the occupants did not comply, Tulsa Police used a pepperball device on the structure. Oswalt and a woman, later identified as Heather L. Williams exited the RV and were taken into custody.

Tulsa Police are now searching for a man who fled the Tulsa Courthouse this week.

Police say Chance Oswalt was on trial for a 2023 case where his baby died from a fentanyl overdose.

During jury deliberations on Thursday, Police say Oswalt walked out of the courthouse.

Even after he’d left, the jury delivered a guilty verdict. The jury recommended a sentence of 21 years and 8 months for Child Neglect, and 10 months for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Oswalt now has multiple warrants out for his arrest. If you see him, call 911.
