Tulsa County residents warned of ongoing phone scam requesting payments

By Fox23.com News Staff

TULSA, Okla. — Residents of Tulsa County are being asked to be cautious of a scam circulating.

Scammers are pretending to be Tulsa County Court Services and law enforcement officers. These people are calling residents and are falsely claiming someone must pay a $1,000 deposit for “GPS supervision as a condition of a bond.”

Families are typically pressured into making this payment.

Tulsa County Court Services and the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office said it’s important to note that neither agency will request bond- or GPS-related payments over the phone.

If you get a phone call like this, do not send any money. Hangup and contact the Tulsa County court Services office.

If you think you have been scammed, contact your financial institution to stop the payment.

You should also file a police report with either your local police department or Tulsa County Sheriff’s office.

You can report these calls to the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office by calling 918-596-5600.
