Man on horseback helps capture a loose cow on the streets in Oklahoma City

By John Filbeck

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – OKC Police responded to an area in the center of Oklahoma City on Tuesday after they received reports of a cow loose on the road. The cow was just off of Reno Ave. near the Hurricane Harbor water park.

When they arrived they saw the cow being pursued by a rope-wielding man on horseback. The man was eventually able to lasso the cow, just before the evening rush hour, after it was boxed in by a few vehicles.

Officials say that the chaotic bovine’s origins are unclear, but the Cattleman’s Congress trade show is underway in Oklahoma City. The event runs through January 14th, and it’s possible that the animal escaped from the show.

The cow was not hurt, and was loaded safely onto a trailer.
