TULSA, Okla. — Dolly Parton is celebrating her 80th birthday in a few weeks and the Tulsa City-County Library is wanting to celebrate with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
Starting on Monday, January 12, libraries across Tulsa County will offer free Dolly Parton’s Birthday Storytimes that will have songs, stories, crafts and party favors.
The storytimes will lead up to Dolly Parton’s Birthday Bash on Saturday, January 17 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Gathering Place, located at 2650 South John Williams Way, in the Williams Lodge. The all-ages birthday celebration will have live music, from Sugar Free Allstars, special storytimes, face painting, birthday cake and more.
The dates and locations for the Birthday Storytimes are the following:
- Monday, Jan. 12 from 10:30-11 a.m. at Broken Arrow Library, 300 W. Broadway Ave.
- Monday, Jan. 12 from 11-11:30 a.m. at Bixby Library, 20 E. Breckenridge.
- Tuesday, Jan. 13 from 10:15-10:45 a.m. at Bronson Brookside Library, 4607 S. Madison Place.
- Tuesday, Jan. 13 from 10:30-11 a.m. at South Broken Arrow Library, 3600 S. Chestnut.
- Wednesday, Jan. 14 from 10:30-11 a.m. at Zarrow Regional Library, 2224 W. 51st St.
- Wednesday, Jan. 14 from 4-4:30 p.m. at Suburban Acres Library, 4606 N. Garrison Ave.
- Thursday, Jan. 15 from 10:30-11 a.m. at Tulsa International Airport, 7777 Airport Drive.
- Thursday, Jan. 15 from 11-11:30 a.m. at Hardesty Regional Library, 8316 E. 93rd St.
- Friday, Jan. 16 from 11-11:30 a.m. at Martin Regional Library, 2601 S. Garnett Road.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Tulsa City-County Library was founded in 2023. Each child enrolled receives a free, age-appropriate book every month unitl their fifth birthday. To learn more or to enroll, you can go here.
