TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department said a man with open containers of alcohol in his vehicle was arrested and accused of causing a rollover crash Thursday morning.

Police said officers responded to an injury crash near East 51st Street South and Memorial Drive around 4:30 a.m.

Officers found a vehicle upside down, and another with significant front-end damage.

The driver of the upside down vehicle said she was rear-ended, which caused her vehicle to flip over. She was treated at the scene and released.

Police said the driver who rear-ended the victim, identified as 21-year-old Leonardo Gomez, admitted to officers he’d been drinking since around 11 p.m. and had open containers of alcohol in his vehicle.

Gomez showed signs of intoxication and was taken to the hospital to be cleared before officers arrested him.

Police said Gomez was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County Jail for DUI.
