TULSA, Okla. — A Tulsa man has been arrested on animal cruelty complaints, accused of shooting and killing three of his five dogs.
Police say when got to the east Tulsa home of Peter Petrov on Tuesday afternoon, he was refusing to let animal control workers into his house so they could retrieve one dog’s body.
They say Petrov eventually brought the body of the dead dog to the door, and he was arrested.
Police say they found two more dead dogs in the backyard, which appeared to have gunshot wounds and which they say Petrov admitted to shooting.
They say he told them he did it because he was moving to a place that only allowed one dog.
Police say two additional dogs, which were still alive, were rescued from the home.
