OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma State Department of Education has opened a public comment period for the Oklahoma Academic Standards for Social Studies.

The standards were revised during the 2024-2025 school year. Following a state Supreme Court ruling, the Social Studies standards underwent additional review and are now available for public comment again.

OSDE is encouraging all interested stakeholders to take part in the review process and give feedback on the proposed standards. Stakeholders can take part in the review individually or as part of a review team.

The draft standards were published on Jan. 29 and are available for public comment until Feb. 18. You can complete the public comment form by clicking here. You can read the draft standards by clicking here.

OSDE and the executive committee will review the feedback for consideration as part of the standards revision process.
