Two people arrested after police find drugs and guns in vehicle

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department arrested two people after officers say they were found with guns and drugs in their vehicle.

According to police, officers responded to a disturbance with a weapon call at the OYO Hotel near Archer and North Sheridan Road. around 10:15 p.m. Monday night. The caller said a woman was threatening people on the property with a gun. The suspect left the hotel in a black Toyota Tacoma while officers were heading to the scene.

The vehicle was later spotted by the TPD helicopter matching the suspect’s description with three occupants heading south on Sheridan. Officers began a traffic stop and took all three people into custody without incident.

In the vehicle three guns, one and a half pounds of marijuana, a small amount of fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia were found. Two people in the vehicle, Jay Chatman, 33, and Mya Olivarez, 22, were arrested. The third person was released. 

Chatman was charged with trafficking a controlled dangerous substance after former conviction of a felony (AFCF) and possession of a firearm (AFCF)

Olivarez was arrested for possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
