TULSA, Okla. — A new store opened in midtown Tulsa on Wednesday that aims to help shoppers stretch their budgets.
The new Ollie’s Bargain Outlet held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 21st Street and Yale Avenue.
“Today, we are opening our second store in Tulsa. It’s our grand opening today. We’ve had a pretty good turnout in the beginning and we’re looking forward to servicing more customers in the Tulsa area,” said Darrin Wheat, regional director of midwest stores for Ollie’s.
The retailer already operates a Tulsa location at 71st Street and Memorial Drive, as well as stores in Owasso and Muskogee.
The store offers a variety of discounted merchandise, including furniture, food and cleaning products.
“Ollie’s is an outlet store, so we buy excess inventory when companies buy a certain amount of inventory and can’t sell it all. We buy it from them and sell it at a discount, usually up to 70% off the normal retail price,” Wheat said.
The midtown location will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
