JENKS, Okla. — A Jenks man won $5 million with a Mega Millions ticket he bought from a gas station in Henryetta.

On Tuesday, “Matt” decided to buy a Mega Millions ticket ahead of the evening’s drawing at a QuikTrip near Highway 75 and East Trudgeon Street in Henryetta.

Though “Matt’s” ticket wasn’t the Mega Millions jackpot winner, he decided to check his ticket using the Oklahoma Lottery ticket checker on Wednesday morning, learning his ticket had won him $5 million.

According to “Matt,” he immediately went home and told his wife that he was going to Oklahoma City to claim his prize.

“Matt” shared he’s focused on investing his prize money wisely and doesn’t currently have any big plans.

“Matt” is the 95th person to win a prize of millions from the Oklahoma Lottery.

“Moments like this are exactly why we love what we do,” shared Abby Morgan, the Director of Marketing and Product Development for the Oklahoma Lottery. “Matt’s story is such a great reminder that you never know when a simple decision can completely change your life.”

The overall Mega Millions jackpot still hasn’t been won and will be up to an estimated $458 million prize for Friday night’s draw.
