TULSA, Okla. — Police have arrested 6 juveniles after they led multiple law enforcement agencies on a chase in northeast Oklahoma.
According to the Tulsa Police Department, officers spotted a stolen SUV around 11:30 p.m. near 1400 South Garnett. They attempted a traffic stop near 11400 E. 11th Street, but the SUV sped off heading eastbound on 11th Street.
The SUV continued northbound on Highway 169 into Owasso.
According to Captain Nick Boatman with Owasso PD, they were requested to assist TPD around 11:40 p.m. with the pursuit on 169 around 46th Street North. Owasso PD set up at multiple locations along the highway and blocked exit ramps to limit the impact on uninvolved motorists.
According to TPD, Collinsville Police found the vehicle near 3500 E. 146th Street North and detained the teens until TPD officers arrived. Skiatook Police Chief Jason Willingham stated they were also called by Collinsville to assist with the stop.
The five passengers, ages ranging from 14 to 17, were arrested and booked into the Community Intervention Center for joyriding. The driver, 17 years old, was arrested and booked into the Community Intervention Center for possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding, and no driver’s license.
