Tulsa Police arrested two people early Tuesday morning after officers found them cutting copper pipes inside the old Promenade Mall.

Around 12:05 a.m., officers arrived to investigate a break‑in at the former mall near 41st and Yale. Police say they discovered boarded‑up doors and windows had been pried open.

While searching the building, officers reported hearing a saw running inside a former electronics store. They ordered anyone inside to come out, but got no response. When they went in, they said they found 58-year-old Mitchell Hauke and 48-year-old Robbie Stedman hiding behind a VR machine.

A reciprocating saw was allegedly stashed inside the machine, and officers claim they found a large amount of freshly cut copper pipe loaded into a trash can and onto a cart.

Hauke and Stedman were taken into custody and booked into the Tulsa County Jail for Second‑Degree Burglary After Former Conviction of a Felony, Larceny of Copper Wire or Cable, and Possession of Burglary Tools AFCF.

Police note these are arrests, not convictions.
