Following the decision, the district said it’s chosen to add 13 additional positions to ensure the district can continue functioning as normal.

TPS said the decision is expected to save them around $7 million in the 2026-2027 school year.

According to the district, while the decision was difficult, they believe the cuts will give them the ability to continue serving students’ educational needs through the forecasted budget shortfall the district said it’s set to face next year.
