Tulsa Police were called out to an area near E. 18th Street and South 125th East Avenue on Tuesday in reference to a man attempting to break into houses, and he allegedly pulled a handgun on a grandmother and her granddaughter, who were swinging on a tree swing.
According to police, Christian Rodriguez approached the grandmother and asked for water. He then allegedly showed her a handgun and demanded that they go into a residence with him.
The grandmother fled with her granddaughter, running to a neighbor’s house. Reports say Rodriguez ran from the home and drove away in his car, but he allegedly attempted to break into another residence. Police said during the second incident, a woman came to the door, and Rodriguez showed her the gun and attempted to force his way into the house. He was confronted by the male homeowner and fled again, driving away in a gray Ford Fusion.
Officers located Rodriguez, initiated a traffic stop, found a handgun in his vehicle, and he was then positively identified by both victims.
Rodriguez faces charges, including Threatening a Violent Act, Attempted First-Degree Burglary, and Possession of a Firearm While in the Commission of a Felony.
