River Parks Executive Director proves he’s “One Tough Turkey” by completing 110-mile bike challenge

The River Parks Executive Director crushed the “One Tough Turkey” challenge by completing a 110-Mile bicycle ride to raise money for a new visitor center.

On Wednesday, Jeff Edwards accepted the challenge to ride 110 miles in a single day at Turkey Mountain to raise funding support for the BOK Hub Visitor Center at the park, and he might have gone over by two miles. Edwards completed the challenge in about 12 hours, and he actually rode 112 miles.

Edwards told KRMG the $8 Million visitor center will make a lasting impact on Turkey Mountain.

“This facility is all about activation with the users, safety features, staffing, programming implementation — we’re doing all of that right now out the back of a vehicle. It’s going to be a lasting impact on Turkey Mountain and the use there with that BOK hub visitor center,”

They have reached $3 Million for the center, and they raised $52,000 in donations and pledges for the challenge.

One lap equalled 9.3 miles, and Edwards rode 12 laps to reach 112 miles.
