SAPULPA, Okla. — A large gathering of city officials, school officials, business leaders, community members and more in Sapulpa celebrated a turning point in the construction of their new high school Friday with a topping-out ceremony.
Crews put the final structural beam in place on the building, which is expected to be completed in the middle part of next year.
The new building will feature many upgrades over the current facilities, including a 1,200 seat performing arts center, a 3-story academic wing with state-of-the-art science labs, and improved safety and security measures including tornado shelters.
It’s all part of the $279 million ‘Chieftan Strong’ bond package that was approved by voters in 2023.
