TULSA, Okla. — City and community leaders are holding groundbreaking ceremonies today on a huge new trail system near the new Gilcrease Museum in northwest Tulsa.
With around 400 acres of land and more than 13 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails (map pictured below), it will have the same scope and feel of Turkey Mountain Park in southwest Tulsa, although not quite as big.
Construction on the $3.5 million park is all privately funded, but the City says the Tulsa Parks Department will oversee the long-term maintenance.
They say it will feature trails for all skill levels.
The new park is expected to open early next year.
