Rogers High School in Tulsa on lockdown

Tulsa Police Department

TULSA, Okla. – Rogers High School is currently on lockdown. Tulsa Police say that threats made to members of the student body at the school Monday morning were credible enough to prompt Tulsa Public Schools and the Tulsa Police Department to lock the school down for the safety of the students and the staff.

A representative with Tulsa Public Schools said that TPS Campus Police noticed a suspicious vehicle off campus. Out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to lock the school down and position numerous officers in and around the school. The facility has also been searched multiple times.

TPS sent out a message to Will Rogers families that reads:

We are following up on the message from earlier this morning. At this time, our campus has been placed on lockdown status. This means students and staff will be in classrooms with exterior doors locked, and no one is able to enter or exit. Because of this status, please do not come to the school at this time. Students and staff are inside our buildings and not moving between buildings. Tulsa Public Schools is working with external law enforcement after receiving information about suspicious activity on campus property. As the situation is resolved, we will share additional details. Thank you.

Tulsa Police stated that there has been no violent act committed at the school and everyone is safe.

KRMG will continue to monitor this situation and bring you the latest information as it becomes available.

If you have a student at Rogers High School, TPS will be providing details on when students will be released.
